Africa is no stranger to great architecture—in fact, the continent is peppered with projects by leading SAOTA architects—but it has often been overlooked as a destination for notable design. Not so anymore. Luxury safari company Roar Africa is changing the game with a new itinerary: “Safari by Design.”
Offering the best of Cape Town’s design highlights, an immersive experience in nature at Kubili House in Thornybush Private Game Reserve, “Safari by Design” brings together the best elements of Africa’s diverse landscape: architecture and nature. The itinerary kicks off in Cape Town with a private architectural tour led by award-winning architect Tiann Meyer. The following day, guests are given an exclusive peek inside some of the city’s most incredible private homes—from a contemporary home in the mountains to a historical Cape Dutch home with designer African interiors.
The trip is topped off with a stay at Kubili House, a luxury private villa in the wilderness of Africa, where guests can enjoy unobstructed views of the savannah, game drives on the reserve, and afternoon spa treatments. It’s the perfect post-summer getaway that seamlessly blends culture and nature.
